Rámnoús
( Worth Seeing )

This is one of the remotest classical sites that is actually accessible from Athens, though it is awkward to reach unless you have a car. For that reason you may well have the site to yourself, especially out of season. It was sacred to two goddesses, Themis (Goddess of Justice) and Nemesis (mother of Helen of Troy), but little remains of their two temples, the foundations of which are scattered and overgrown. Nature has largely taken over, and that is part of its charm. It is a place for imagination, peace, wildlife and a picnic.
