This port, a 40-minute bus ride from Athens, is the departure point for many of the ferries to the northeast Aegean islands, to some of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese, and to Evvia. It is also renowned for the quality of its seafood restaurants, clustered round the small fishing harbour, and a trip out here for lunch can make a wonderful break from the big city.
