Founded by John Palm in the late 1700s, Palmyra bases its economy on food manufacturing and farming. Of interest 3 miles north of Main and Railroad streets is the 1803 Bindnagles Evangelical Lutheran Church, a two-story brick structure with round arch windows and doors. The grave of John Palm is in the churchyard.
