Many good things: clean room, liked the extra spa room access to the thermal suite, friendly staff, excellent burgers Did not like: charged automatic 18% gratuity for purchasing a t-shirt from the bar without any beverage purchase, hard sell for products after massage at the spa, tendering to Catalina Island took a long time to get on a boat getting there (short wait on the way back), could not use my carnival gift card on the Carnival site for payment since I booked with AAA so it was a pain to figure out how I could apply the money properly.

We were did heartened to hear the crew was not happy. It shows. The service in the lido deck was less than stellar.

Too many drunks to be a great family cruise, too many kids to be a great adult cruise. Over time these short mid week cruises have became less family friendly due to rampant drunken debauchery. Everyone we went with seemed to have a good enough time but it has lost the young family fun. The kids clubs were great and I genuinely felt safe leaving my kid there. The food quality overall is good but the special dinners have become lackluster.
