National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame

One of the museum’s highlights is the Hall of Fame, which honors women who left a significant impact on the world of Western culture. Take some time to explore this unique museum and appreciate the unforgettable contributions of the cowgirls of the West.

While driving to the museum is an option, visitors may want to consider taking public transportation. You can take the Trinity Railway Express to the Fort Worth Central Station. From there, transfer to the Trinity Metro bus route 002, which will take you near the museum. Alternatively, you can take The Dash, an electric shuttle that runs between Downtown Fort Worth and the Cultural District; it stops at various attractions along the way, including the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.

The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is open Tuesday through Sunday, with shorter hours on Sundays. It is closed on Mondays and major holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. If inclement weather is in the forecast, check the official website of the Fort Worth Independent School District, which sticks to the same closure schedule as the museum.

Just down the street from the museum’s main building is the Alice Walton Cowgirl Park, established in 2019. The park has on display the Sergeant Reckless statue, along with other horse-related and Western-inspired statues and memorials. You’ll also find a mosaic mural of a tooled western saddle, making a beautiful addition to the parking space.
