Delft Pottery of Delftse Pauw
Delftweg 133, Rijswijk, South Holland, 2289 BD
Dating back to the 17th century, Delft Pottery de Delftse Pauw is a factory and showroom dedicated to creating and selling Delft's internationally celebrated blue-and-white pottery. Come here to learn about the history of the iconic products and see how they are produced through free educational tours; it’s also a great place to pick up some Delftware of your own.
The Basics
The Delftware tin-glazed pottery technique hasn’t changed much since the 17th century—each piece requires the craftsmanship of a master painter to produce the very specific look this brand is known for. The showroom and minimuseum showcases a wide range of authentic Delftware, which is always entirely hand-painted, in a historic Dutch building overlooking a canal.
Things to Know Before You Go
Entrance to Delft Pottery de Delftse Pauw is free of charge, as are guided tours, which are available in seven languages, including English.
It is possible to purchase Delftware pieces in the shop at factory prices and have them shipped all over the world.
Tile-painting workshops are available upon request.
How to Get There

When to Get There
From November 1 to March 15, De Delftse Pauw is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4:30pm and Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays from 11am to 1pm. DIY Delftware
De Delftse Pauw offers workshops to visitors wishing to learn more about Delftware and even paint a piece on their own. Led by a professional painter, the workshops include a Delft tile, though the glazing and firing process means you’ll have to wait a week to pick yours up. For an extra fee, the factory can ship tiles back to your home country.
