Botanical Garden of Barcelona
Carrer Doctor Font I Quer, 2, Barcelona, Catalonia, 08038
Located on the slopes of Montjuïc Mountain, the Botanical Garden of Barcelona spans 35 acres (14 hectares). Dedicated to protecting and promoting Mediterranean plants, the garden is home to more than 1,300 species from Australia, California, Chile, South Africa, and the Mediterranean Basin.
The Basics
The plants are arranged by geography and ecological affinity, with paths and walkways winding around the garden. See cypress and eucalyptus in the Australian zone; pines and chaparral in the California zone; olive trees in the Mediterranean zone; and dragon trees in the Canary Islands zone. Highlights include banksia, bread palms, hyacinths of Peru, Mexican blue palm, Port Jackson fig, and the stone pine.
Purchase individual tickets, or combo tickets that also include special exhibitions or entry to the Natural Science Museum. Visit on a hop-on hop-off bus tour to see Barcelona sights at your leisure. Full or discounted admission to the gardens is included in several multi-attraction passes that also include free public transport.
