Overview
Some islands are meant to be explored slowly. Hvar is one of them. On this private full-day tour, see the island's natural beauty, history, hidden corners and authentic traditions with a local guide who grew up here. Pickup from your hotel, apartment or port, then a scenic drive to Napoleon's Fortress, 250m above Hvar Town, with panoramic views over the Pakleni Islands and the Adriatic. Travel quiet inland roads past lavender fields, vineyards and stone villages: Velo Grablje, once the heart of European lavender production, and abandoned Malo Grablje, with roofless stone houses and a preserved 1894 olive mill. Next, Stari Grad, one of Croatia's oldest towns: visit Tvrdalj Castle and stroll the historic streets. Continue through the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain, farmed since ancient Greek times, and reach Humac, a 15th-century stone village with sweeping views over vineyards, forests and sea. The day ends at a family-run konoba with a Dalmatian meal, local wine and olive oil.
