Located in the southern corner of the Kathmandu Valley, Dakshinkali is a renowned Shakti Peeth dedicated to Goddess Kali, aptly named “Kali of the South.” The temple is often bustling with devoted worshippers, particularly on Tuesdays and Saturdays when ritual animal sacrifices take place. It’s important to note that, unlike many other places, Nepal’s Shakti Peeths do not accept female animals for sacrifice. Nestled in a picturesque natural setting, Dakshinkali has also become a popular spot for picnickers looking to enjoy the serene surroundings.
