This family-friendly restaurant quite capably brings the core of New York’s Italian popular dining out to the suburbs offering convenience, authenticity and fair pricing. The family run food business has its roots in Brooklyn from over a century ago and the strong pedigree shows. The menu features a selection of favorites, including excellent rustic-style pizza, and Iavarone’s unique “spring rolls“ – stuffed with sautéed broccoli rabe, mozzarella and crumbled pork sausage – a kind of calzone which likewise pays tribute to their Brooklyn heritage. The service is amicable, and there is a very convenient grab and go area for freshly prepared food, which is convenient for the lunchtime crowd. Large tables and celebrations blend in with a well-turned out clientele who frequent a welcoming and social bar area. For families there are comfortable round booths which afford some privacy and space for the younger set. The many Plainview and Melville area hotels are just a short drive away and there is ample parking on premises.
