This smaller, adults-only, all-inclusive resort on the Dutch side of the island is notable for being low-key, contemporary and relaxed, with a solid line-up of widely-varied dining options. This can be a sensible choice for couples who will appreciate the convenience of an enhanced mid-scale Caribbean resort minutes from the airport. With such close proximity to the airport it might not be everyone’s ideal location for complete tropical island relaxation. However, the resort plays its location as a strength instead of a weakness. The resort seamlessly blends its super convenient location into acting as an anchor, and a very active hub within a buzzing micro-urban locale. This compact urban enclave is complete with a moderate-sized casino, nightclubs, unpretentious beach bars, plus a good handful of superior restaurants and pubs. Standard suites at the property are spacious and offer contemporary comfort, while a couple of dozen enhanced suites provide more elaborate service, complete with a butler, and feature a nifty swim-out pool off the guest room’s veranda. There is 24/7 room service for all suites. The much larger, family-oriented Sonesta Maho Beach property is adjacent, but the exclusive and adult-only facilities at Ocean Point are clearly differentiated, located within a separate structure.
