I was actually really shocked about the condition of this property. I knew it was less expensive than the other hotels in the area, but I thought that was just because they didn't have air conditioning, chalking it up to it being a historic building. But no, it has to be because they do not maintain this property at all & based on that, they are overcharging! There was hair on our bed. The bathroom was dirty. There was cracks all over the ceiling. There was a big gaping hole by some external heating unit over our bed. The floor was filthy and the carpet was rolling up, so it became a tripping hazard. Speaking of tripping hazards, they had the wires that run from the small TV underneath the carpet, which goes to the doorway into the bathroom. So every time you walked into the bathroom, you had to be careful not to trip over the chords under the carpet. The elevator was beyond small, which again can be overlooked because of the historic-ness of the building but it was hard to fit 4 people in there, which was how many stayed in my party. The door handles and light switches didn't look like they had been cleaned in years, the windows would only open 4 inches, which I get can be a security concern but it was so muggy in the room, and there was no relief from it. The chairs were sticky, the toilet seat was missing laminet, the walls were so thin that every time somebody next door used a key to get into their room, it sounded like they were right there in our room with us. The list as you can see, really does go on and on. I just couldn't believe at the filth! That hotel has such promise to b a cute historical stay, but instead it was a filthy, disgusting, falling apart mess! I would never stay there ever again or would I ever recommend that anybody with any sense of sanitary respect stay either.
