I would definitely recommend Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach. Great location, easy walk to Waikiki beach and loads of restaurant options. Pool is amazing! Hotel rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable.
My family and I went to the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach on 1/31/24 in Honolulu, HI. We stayed in Tower 2 in room 251. Prior to spending the night at the Courtyard, we traveled to 4 Hawaiian Islands for two weeks and our expectations were set based on the stay at those islands. The first problem we encountered was that the only elevator for tower 2 was out of service and the guest were expected to carry their luggage up 20+ flights of stairs. The hotel offered no help with getting luggage to the rooms. Fortunately we were on the second floor be considering my wife and I are senior citizens it was still a stretch to get there. As we entered our room, it was NOT what we expected from this hotel chain. The furniture looked like it came from a 2nd hand store, the couch had stains on it, the carpet was not clean and the bathroom shower was so small my daughter and I. who are tall had, trouble getting into it and using it. My first thought was - This room looks like a college dorm from 20 years ago. It looked and felt dirty. We had to paid an extra fee for so my adult daughter could sleep on a fold out bed from the couch. She was unable to sleep on it since it was extremely uncomfortable. The room also was not prepared for the use of the fold out bed. We had to ask for extra towels, bedding pillows for the “fold out bed”. We were also caught by surprise at the additional $42.00 in fees that we had to pay at check-in that were above and beyond what we paid when booking the room. Had I been aware of this additional fee when booking, I would have looked else where since the overall price for this stay was no longer competitive with surrounding properties. I will not being recommending this property to anyone who asks.
