Clarion Pointe Winslow I-40

The room smelled of smoke. The fan and light did not work in the bathroom. The carpets had holes and tears in them. The hotels in a process of changing over to Clarion. Amenities and food service was almost nonexistent. No furniture in common areas to sit in. It all been cleared out by the previous owners. Room decorations on the walls have been removed. Should not be renting rooms right now.

Run, don’t walk away from this place! Arrived to be told we could not use the outside entry door nearest to our room. Saw that it was permanently bolted shut, which is a violation of national fire code. Mentioned this to front desk clerk who rudely stated bolting an egress door was no violation, so there was nothing they would be doing about it. Outside facilities shabby, run down, beds were good, but in general the entire facility is very run down. Oh, and a live pigeon was flying around the breakfast area. AAA should not endorse this place.

Cleanliness of bathroom was atrocious. The tub floor was dark like it needed a good scrubbing, and when I turned on the water for a shower, all sorts of dirt and grit floated up. No shower today. When I was standing at the vanity shaving my feet stepped on something gritty on the floor under the counter top.. it was a small layer of kitty litter! My room was adjacent to a metal door leading to the side parking lot, it made a loud screech every time someone opened it and a loud bang when it was shut. I was jarred awake by guests checking out in the early AM, taking their stuff out to their cars. I was driving to New Mexico on I-40, the place served it's purpose of an overnight stay to get some sleep before proceeding on, but I would not make it my choice for an extended stay.
