Flooding
Crooked Creek Campground is subject to flooding during times of extended rain events. We are on the Tennessee River which is flood controlled by the Tennessee Valley Authority dams. Flooding is USUALLY an issue only in the winter months and very early spring but can be a factor anytime. It is not flash flood events that we deal with so we usually have plenty of time to move out of the campground. Campers owners will be notified when campers need to be moved. When notified campers are encouraged to get their trailers out ASAP. Crooked Creek Campground is not responsible for damaged caused by flooding in the event a camper is not moved in time. River levels can be monitored at: https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=meg&gage=prvt1. 362 feet is the level where flooding in the campground begins. By 363 all campers must be out of campground.
