The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ is a popular attraction at Universal Orlando™, spread out across three parks at the resort: Hogsmeade™ at Universal Islands of Adventure™, Diagon Alley™ on the Universal Studios Florida™ side, and the Ministry of Magic™ at Universal Epic Universe™. The parks are connected by the Hogwarts Express train, and each offers environments with rides, shops, and eateries drawn from the magical books and movies.
The Basics
Visit attractions on the Islands of Adventure side to see a replica of Hogwarts Castle with sound-and-light shows on select evenings and ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. There's a little kid-friendly rollercoaster, the Flight of the Hippogriff, and a more hair-raising alternative, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Don't miss the tavern-style Three Broomsticks restaurant and shops.
Head to the Universal Studios Florida side to explore a model Diagon Alley, dine at the Leaky Cauldron restaurant serving British fare, and browse the shops; you can also stop at Ollivanders to buy a wand. The only ride on this side is Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. You need a combo ticket to visit both sides of the attraction, and prebooking is recommended for the best deal.

A combo pass to Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventures is needed to ride Hogwarts Express.

How to Get There
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction is inside Universal Orlando Resort, just off Interstate 4, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) from downtown Orlando, for a 20-minute drive. If you arrive by bus, get off at Universal Boulevard and Hollywood Way, and walk about 10 minutes to the park entrance. The Hogwarts Express train ride connects the two parks.
When to Get There
It can be hard to predict the crowds at Islands of Adventure, but the busiest times of year are over spring and winter breaks, summer vacation, and school holidays. Go on a rainy day or midweek between Labor Day and Thanksgiving for what's likely to be smaller crowds.
Other Rides in the Parks
The parks at Universal Orlando have plenty to offer. Universal Volcano Bay™ offers thrilling waterslides and a towering volcano. Universal Studios Florida has more film-inspired rides—many of which use motion graphics to enhance the experience—while Islands of Adventure has more outdoor rides and water rides, plus a number of rides and attractions aimed at younger children.

Ways to explore
To experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you first need to have a Universal theme park ticket—you can’t buy tickets to only the Harry Potter–themed attractions; in order to visit all three parks, you’ll need a multipark ticket that allows access to Universal Islands of Adventure™, Universal Studios Florida™, and Universal Epic Universe™. Consider a multiday option as well. Once inside, some of the Potter–themed highlights include a replica of Hogwarts Castle, the Flight of the Hippogriff ride, and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. You can also ride the Hogwarts Express train between parks.

Address
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is inside Universal Orlando Resort, about a 20-minute drive from downtown Orlando. The world is divided into different parks, and you can ride the Hogwarts Express train that connects them.
Driving
From Orlando International Airport (MCO), take the FL-528 W, then take exit 75B from I-4E. Continue on FL-435N/S Kirkman Road, then follow the signs to Universal Orlando. There is designated resort parking, but traffic can be heavy.
Public transportation
You can catch the I-Ride Trolley from stops along International Drive to Universal Blvd & International Drive, then walk to Universal Orlando to reach the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Best times to visit
Try to arrive at the park as close to the opening time as possible for the shortest wait. As an alternative, consider going in the late afternoon or early evening.
Best days to visit
Weekends and public holidays can get very busy, so aim for Tuesday–Thursday if possible.
Best months to visit
Avoid July and August if you can, and come in April or September instead for milder weather and lighter crowds.
Special events
The winter holidays are a fun time to come to the park, when it’s lit up with decorations, fireworks, night shows, and special themes.
