Resembling the sail of a Portuguese ship and characterized by lattice steelwork, the Vasco da Gama Tower has become a symbol of modern Lisbon. The tallest building in the Portuguese capital soars 475 feet (145 meters) over the banks of the Tagus River and stands beside several contemporary attractions built for the 1998 World Expo.

How to Get There
The Vasco da Gama Tower(Torre Vasco da Gama) is located in the Parque das Nações complex on the banks of the Tagus River and is accessible only to guests of the Myriad hotel or restaurant. If you want to reach the riverfront area by public transport, take the metro Red Line to Oriente station, from which Parque das Nações is a few minutes’ walk.
When to Get There
The cable car is open daily from 10:30am to 8pm in summer and 11am to 6pm in winter; the short ride lasts about five minutes one way. Riding the car at sunset is a great experience for couples and photographers.
