Utsubo Park

With its rose gardens and cherry blossoms, Osaka’s peaceful Utsubo Park offers respite from the city's flashing lights and bustling streets. It’s a particular hit with tennis lovers. It's home to the Utsubo Tennis Center, which boasts 16 tennis courts that host international competitions.
The highlight of Utsubo Park is the free rose garden, home to multiple varieties of fragrant flowers. A fountain and a small creek run through it, which locals use to cool down in summer. You can reserve a spot at the tennis courts online. On the cusp of the park, you’ll find the OSTEC Exhibition Hall, a science and technology museum home to multiple family-friendly exhibitions.
Plenty of 7-Eleven stores surround the store, ideal for picking up snacks to picnic inside the park.
The paved, flat paths that run through the park are accessible for strollers and visitors with reduced mobility.
There are public toilets and a kid’s play area inside the park.
You can reach Utsubo Park on the Osaka metro. Disembark at Hommachi Station on the red Midosuji Line and green Chuo Line, a 10-minute walk from the park. Some cycling tours of Osaka pass by the park.
If you’re heading to Utsubo Park to see the roses, the best blooms are in spring (May–June) and fall (October) once the summer heat has subsided. For cherry blossoms, visit the park from late March through mid-April. The park is open 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
On the park's north side, you’ll find the fashionable neighborhood of Kyomachibori, home to an abundance of trendy coffee shops perfect for posing with a matcha latte. The nearby area of Honmachi is famous for its food and is home to a handful of top-rated ramen and sushi restaurants. Also nearby is the Namba Yasaka Shrine (Namba Yasaka-jinja), famous for its huge lion head.
