Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store
Oudebrugsteeg 15, Amsterdam, Netherlands, 1012
Amsterdam’s answer to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store is the perfect destination for anyone with a sweet tooth. Located in the historic Beurs van Berlage building—where cocoa was traded a century ago—the ethical chocolate brand’s retail outlet includes a wealth of sweet treats, souvenirs, and much more. Visitors can even make their own customized chocolate bars.
The basics
One of the top chocolate destinations in Amsterdam—still the biggest cocoa port in Europe—Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store is great for chocoholics of all ages. Once you’ve entered, a world of decadent adventure is yours to discover: Browse the wide range of chocolate bars and souvenirs, learn more about the ethical chocolate brand’s story, and capture photos of its chocolate wall. The Super Store’s highlight is the Unlimiteds machine, which lets visitors pick from three chocolate varieties and numerous add-ins to make their own custom bars.
Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store is conveniently located in the heart of Amsterdam, near many of the city’s best-known museums and attractions. It’s easy to visit independently during a full day of sightseeing in the Dutch capital.
Things to know before you go
While Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store is free for all to visit, note that there can be long lines to get in during prime visiting hours.
If you plan to make your own chocolate bar, arrive at least two hours before closing time and expect a wait before your bars are ready.
The store accepts payment by cards only and does not take cash.
Due to the heritage architecture of the Beurs van Berlage, the shop is not accessible to wheelchair users.
How to get there
Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store is located in the Beurs van Berlage building at Oudebrugsteeg 15. It’s just a few minutes from Amsterdam’s Centraal Station, which is served by mainline trains, buses, the metro, and several tram lines. The 2, 12, 13, and 17 trams all stop nearby.
When to get there
Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store is open daily from morning until evening. It is closed annually on King’s Day (April 27), Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. To miss the long lines and crowds, aim to visit early, preferably on a weekday rather than a weekend.
