Singapore Cruise Port

Singapore Cruise Centre, 1 Maritime Square, Singapore, 099253

Situated in one of the most prosperous countries in the world, Singapore Cruise Port is also one of the world’s busiest and largest ports, as well as the gateway to the Malay Peninsula. Home to two harbors—Singapore Cruise Centre and Marina Bay Cruise Centre—it’s a jumping-off point to explore many of Singapore’s top sites after docking here.

The basics

Singapore has activities and options to suit most travelers, from vast shopping complexes around Orchard Road to charming colonial districts, temples, and culinary hot spots, such as Chinatown. Cruises and guided tours are popular ways to enjoy the above with ease.

Shore excursions are also popular for first-time visitors who want to visit Batam, Singapore Zoo, the Botanic Gardens, or the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. You can’t miss the spectacular Gardens by the Bay either; with so much to see and do, it’s worth building in time before or after departure to fully explore the country.

Things to know before you go

  • The Marina Bay Cruise Centre welcomes mostly international cruise liners, while the Singapore Cruise Centre handles both international cruises and regional ferries.

  • Both cruise centers offer modern terminals with free Wi-Fi, shops, eateries, restrooms, ATMs, and currency exchange kiosks.

  • Singapore is generally hot and humid year-round, so plan accordingly if you’re going to dock here.

  • Singapore Cruise Centre on Sentosa Harbour Front has on-site metro, bus, and cable car connections to Sentosa Island and Mount Faber.

  • The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) in Singapore is wheelchair accessible; eating and drinking on public transportation is not allowed.

  • Top Singapore neighborhoods include Riverside, Orchard Road, Little India, Chinatown, Sentosa Island, and Kampong Glam.

How to get to Singapore from the Singapore Cruise Port

After docking at either the Singapore Cruise Centre or the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, the easiest way into the city is by metro. Both terminals at the Singapore Cruise Port connect to the Singaporean metro system. Taxis are also always available at the terminal, and the trip takes between 10 and 30 minutes; some ships also offer free shuttles services into the center.

Port information

Singapore has four official languages: English, Mandarin, Tamil, and Malay. The official currency is the Singapore dollar, and US dollars are often accepted too. ATMs are available at the cruise terminal and throughout the city, while credit cards are also a popular payment method.
