The Science Centre Singapore offers families a memorable (and entertaining hands-on science experience, with hundreds of interactive exhibits covering topics from waterworks to gardening, the human body to the solar system, and viruses to inventions. Inquisitive visitors also enjoy an IMAX dome theater and outdoor Ecogarden.
The basics
For more than 35 years, the Science Centre Singapore has been promoting scientific learning through exploration and experience. A basic admission ticket grants access to most of the museum's interactive exhibits, including the popular Fire Tornado Show, Professor Crackitt’s Light Fantastic Mirror Maze, Typhoon Chamber, Earthquake Simulator, and the Tesla Coil Show. Other onsite attractions, like Butterflies Up-Close, Snow City, Omni-Theatre, and KidsSTOP require an additional admission fee.
Things to know before you go
- Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the museum.
- Bring a photo ID when you go to pick up tickets purchased online.
- The museum is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible, and wheelchairs are available to borrow from the ticket office.
How to get there
Science Centre Singapore is in the Jurong East district, north of the Ayer Rajah Expressway. Buses #66, #178, #198, and #335 stop just outside the museum, and more than a dozen other lines stop nearby. You can also take the MRT to Jurong East Station, about 8 minutes on foot from the museum entrance.
When to get there
Science Centre Singapore is typically open daily throughout the year, though it’s advisable to check the opening hours before visiting. Please note that the facility sometimes closes for maintenance on Mondays. Plan to visit on a weekday first thing in the morning or during the late afternoon hours to enjoy the exhibits when the museum is at its quietest.

Jurong East has quickly become one of Singapore’s most popular neighborhoods among visitors, thanks to its array of attractions. Spend some time outdoors exploring the Japanese Garden, National Orchid Garden, Singapore Botanic Garden, or Jurong Bird Park.
