In Santiago’s ritzy Las Condes neighborhood, Parque Arauco is one of Chile’s biggest and best-known shopping malls. Whether you need to pick up some essentials or want to shop till you drop, you’ll find a range of stylish options, from high-end global brands such as Louis Vuitton and Versace, to department stores including South America’s biggest, Falabella.
The basics
In addition to shops, Parque Arauco also has a number of restaurants and cafés, as well as a movie theater, which has IMAX and 4DX screens and shows international blockbusters as well as Chilean movies. Parque Arauco’s outdoor boulevard plays host to regular live music performances in the evenings. There is also a theater, founded by Santiago’s renowned Centro Cultural Mori (Mori Cultural Center), which stages family-friendly performances.

How to get there
From downtown Santiago, take the Metro to Escuela Militar (Line 1), then transfer to bus 11, 15, or 20, all of which stop at the mall. Plenty of paid parking is available in the mall’s garages—areas are reserved for visitors with disabilities, the elderly, and pregnant women. Cyclists can park their bikes in the mall’s two free bicycle racks.
When to get there
Parque Arauco shopping mall is open daily. Stores typically open mid-morning and close in the late evening; restaurants typically stay open later. The outdoor boulevard (where you’ll find live music acts in the evening) opens around midday and closes late at night.
Alto Las Condes
If you don’t find what you’re looking for at Parque Arauco, head to Santiago’s other favorite shopping mall, Alto Las Condes. Less than a 10-minute drive (or 30-minute bus ride or 40-minute walk) from Parque Arauco, Alto Las Condes is home to upscale shopping, a movie theater, and several-fine dining restaurants with excellent city views.
