Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT)

If you’re on a large cruise ship stopping in Sydney, you might pass through the Overseas Passenger Terminal. Situated in the heart of Australia’s biggest city, the port aims to make it as convenient as possible to get off (and back on) the ship, and also connects travelers to a plethora of sightseeing options.

How to Get to Sydney From the Overseas Passenger Terminal

The terminal is located in Circular Quay, within walking distance of many attractions in central Sydney. It’s also easy to get around the city via taxi, bus, rail, or ferry. Shore excursions also typically offer round-trip transportation from the port.

Port Information

English is the official language in Sydney, although you may also hear Mandarin and Arabic. The local currency is the Australian dollar, and ATMs are widely available. You can also exchange money at banks or currency exchange offices around the city.
