POINT OF INTEREST

Otto Zutz Club

Carrer de Lincoln 15, Barcelona, Catalonia, 08006

Housed in a repurposed textile factory with a capacity of over 1,000 people, Otto Zutz Club has been a mainstay of the Barcelona club scene since the mid-1980s. Come here to listen to reggaeton, hip hop, and R&B played on massive sound systems four nights per week.

The basics

Otto Zutz Club is spread over three levels, with multiple dance floors and bars, many illuminated by blacklight. Each floor has its own vibe, and multiple DJs in one night make it feel like three clubs in one. VIP tables are ideal if you have cash to splash and want to spend the evening seated with the same group, but there are also places to take a break from dancing on all three floors.

Things to know before you go

  • Club attire is the norm here, and visitors dressed too casually may be turned away.

  • Most of the clubbers at Otto Zutz Club tend to be on the younger side, so visitors over 30 may feel out of place.

  • Lines in front of the club can get long, so arrive early or book a VIP table in advance to speed up your entry.

How to get there

Otto Zutz Club is situated in the Sant Gervasi-Galvany neighborhood of Barcelona. The best way to reach the club is by taking the Green L3 metro line to Fontana, about a 5-minute walk away, or by taxi. Night busses, including the N4 and N5, also stop nearby.

When to get there

Otto Zutz Club is generally open Wednesday–Saturday, opening late at night and remaining open into the early hours. Check the schedule to see who’s playing, and don’t expect headliners to be the first act for the night, so be prepared to stay up late. You can generally expect more crowds on weekends.

Moog Club

If you prefer heavy techno beats to reggaeton, hip hop, and top 40, skip Otto Zutz and head to Moog Club near La Rambla instead. This two-story spot has been a refuge for ravers since the mid-1990s, and it's among Barcelona’s best places to go for house and techno music to this day.
