Situated on the River Tagus (Rio Tejo) in the center of Lisbon’s downtown, Lisbon Cruise Port is conveniently located for cruise passengers wanting to explore this charming city’s many attractions. However, it also serves as a jumping-off point for venturing farther afield into the surrounding countryside and beyond.

The Basics

From the four cruise terminals along the Tagus River, most passengers opt for guided city tours and shore excursions of Lisbon proper. Food tours, history walking tours, and tours which combine Lisbon with nearby Sintra are all popular. You can also tour privately, independently, or via hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus, for more flexibility. Excursions to Fatima and transfers to the airport or train station are also available from the port.

How to Get to Lisbon From the Lisbon Cruise Port

Depending on where your ship docks, it could be as much as a 90-minute walk to town. Many cruise ships offer shuttle service from the port to town and taxis are plentiful. The Terreiro do Paço metro station is nearby and guided shore excursions typically leave from the port.
