Las Vegas Arts District
Las Vegas, NV
Spread out over more than 18 blocks, the Las Vegas Arts District feels worlds apart from the neon lights and casino floors of the Strip. Just south of downtown, it offers everything from vintage shops and boutiques to hip cafés and restaurants, plus—as the name suggests—plenty of artists’ studios and galleries.
The basics
With its pedestrian-friendly streets, the Las Vegas Arts District is worth strolling around, especially if you avoid the heat of the day. Walking tours of the area are ideal for getting your bearings, and typically stop at area shops, breweries, and art-filled attractions. Most meet right in the Arts District, too, so that you can continue exploring the area after your tour or mosey on over to adjacent downtown Las Vegas.
Things to know before you go
The Las Vegas Arts District is also known as "18b," a nod to the fact that the growing district originally consisted of 18 blocks.
The neighborhood and most shops are wheelchair accessible.
It’s best to wear sun protection and bring plenty of water if you’re walking around the neighborhood during the day, no matter what time of year you visit.
How to get there
The fastest way to get to the Las Vegas Arts District from the Strip is by taking a taxi or rideshare, which takes around 10–15 minutes. You can also ride the CZ bus to the Bonneville Transit Center, a 5-minute walk north of the edge of the Arts District.
When to get there
The best time to visit the Las Vegas Arts District is on the first Friday of the month, when the galleries stay open late, and street vendors, food trucks, and live music infuse extra energy into the neighborhood. Just expect crowds at this popular event. If you prefer a quiet alternative, visit on a weekday, when things are calmer.
Artsy Vegas
Las Vegas has loads of attractions for art lovers, beyond the Arts District. Favorites include the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art and the Arte Museum Las Vegas, which focuses on digital art. Other must-sees include Meow Wolf's Omega Mart—a whimsical faux supermarket installation not far from the Strip–and the lesser-known Rita Deanin Abbey Art Museum, which features the works of one of Las Vegas's most beloved artists.
