Konyaalti Beach (Konyaalti Plaji)
Muratpaşa, Antalya, Turkish Riviera, 07030
One of Antalya’s two main city beaches, Konyaalti Beach (Konyaaltı Plajı) is a popular spot for both locals and travelers. Stretching for 4.3 miles (7 kilometers) west of the city, Konyaalti has a mix of pebble and sand beaches, where sun worshipers can swim and enjoy water sports against the dramatic backdrop of the Beydağlari Mountains.
The Basics
There’s plenty to entertain visitors at Konyaalti Beach. At the eastern end of the beach, Antalya Beach Park has banana boats, kayaks, and beach volleyball nets, and there are plenty of bars and cafés along the beachfront. Combine a visit to Konyaalti with a stop at the nearby Antalya Archeological Museum or a scenic walk, or join an electric bike tour that makes it easy to cycle along the seaside promenade and visit other sights.
Things to Know Before You Go
Entrance to the beach is free.
Free amenities at the beach include changing facilities, showers, and restrooms; sun loungers and parasols are also available to rent.
There are numerous bars, cafés, and snack kiosks along the seafront.
Be aware that the beach shelves quite steeply, so children should stay close to shore.
The beach is wheelchair accessible.
How to Get There
Konyaalti Beach is about 4 miles (6 kilometers) west of downtown Antalya, or a 15-minute drive. Trams run to the beach from Antalya; take the west-bound tram and exit at the last stop.
When to Get There
Summer visitors should head there in the morning or late afternoon when the heat is most bearable; escape the midday sun at one of the shaded restaurants of the Antalya Beach Park. It’s also worth sticking around after sunset, when the beachfront bars and cafés blast music and serve cocktails, offering a more relaxed alternative to the downtown nightlife.
Family Attractions Near Konyaalti Beach
There are a number of family attractions around the Antalya Beach Park, including the gigantic Antalya Aquarium, one of the largest of its kind in Turkey (officially the Republic of Türkiye). In the same complex are the Wildpark reptile park, a 4-D cinema, and Snow World, an indoor snow park. Nearby, Aqualand water park has slides and wave pools suitable for the whole family, while the Antalya Minicity displays miniature replicas of Turkey’s most memorable landmarks.
