How to get there

Karol Bagh is about a 15-minute drive northwest of Connaught Place, the de facto center of town. If you’re not arriving as part of an organized tour, you can take the blue line of the metro to Karol Bagh station, which will drop you right in front of the market.

When to get there

Most of the shops in Karol Bagh are open from mid-morning until well into the evening, every day of the week except for Mondays, when most of the market remains closed. If you do come on a Monday, you won't be able to visit most major shops, though you will see street vendors selling various wares.

There are tons of popular places to eat in Karol Bagh, and many locals come here just for the food. As the neighborhood has a large Punjabi population, specialties from the Punjab region are big here. Don’t miss the chance to sample some chole bhature (chickpea curry with puffy deep-fried bread) and kulfi (creamy Indian ice cream).
