ICONSIAM (Icon Siam Mall)
299 Charoen Nakhon Road, Khlong San, Bangkok, Thailand, 10600
Often considered one of the best shopping malls in the world, ICONSIAM (Icon Siam Mall) is home to more than 7,000 stores, covering everything from high fashion and homeware to herbal remedies. It’s perched on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, and you can enjoy sweeping views of the Bangkok body of water from one of the many bars and restaurants on its upper decks.
The basics
Besides the countless shopping opportunities, one of the main highlights of ICONSIAM is Sook Siam, a replica of a traditional floating market on the lower floor. The arts and handicraft stores, performances, and food you’ll find here represent all 77 provinces of Thailand. Outside, there’s a large patio with fountains that surge and illuminate at night, and on the 6th floor, a hypermodern cinema that features an IMAX screen and 4D experience. There’s even a concert venue on the 7th floor, with a capacity of 2,700.
Things to know before you go
- A touch-screen directory service helps you find where your favorite stores are located.
- The mall is fully wheelchair accessible, and there’s a wheelchair rental service too.
- Valet parking is available.
- There’s a food court on the lower floor where you can dine on a wide range of Thai and international fast food.
- There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the mall, as well as restrooms, baby changing services, and a Muslim prayer room.

The best places to go shopping in Bangkok
Bangkok is one of Asia’s (if not the world’s) shopping capitals, so it’s the ideal city to visit to enjoy a spot of retail therapy. Top picks include Siam Square, hailed as the heart of the capital’s shopping district. Here, an elevated walkway connects three shopping malls (Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Central World), which offer a mix of household brands and luxury stores.
