Hult Center for the Performing Arts

The basics

The Hult Center for the Performing Arts occupies a full city block in downtown Eugene and is home to two theaters: the spacious Silva Concert Hall, which has almost 2,500 seats, and the 495-seat Soreng Theater. Most visitors come here independently to attend music and dance performances, concerts, film screenings, and even the occasional comedy show. Tickets for all shows are available to buy online via the venue’s website; it’s best to book in advance to secure your preferred date and seats.

Things to know before you go

• You can purchase tickets for all events online, over the phone, or in person.

• Accessible seats can be booked for wheelchair users, there are accessible restrooms, and wheelchairs are available for loan.

• Armless bariatric chairs are available for anyone who might find them more comfortable.

• Assisted listening devices and sign-language interpretation can be requested.

• Outside food and drinks are not permitted, but there are concession stands and a café where you can purchase snacks and refreshments.

• A free coat check is on the lobby level.

How to get there

The Hult Center for the Performing Arts is located in the heart of downtown Eugene, between 6th and 7th Avenues and Willamette Street and Olive Street. Parking in the on-site garage is available for a fee, accessed via entrances on 6th Avenue and Olive Street. The LTD bus station is three blocks away, around an 8-minute walk.

When to get there

Performances at the Hult Center take place throughout the year, and information about all events is posted on the website well in advance. Many people visit in the summer, when some of the most popular events take place, such as the Oregon Bach Festival. The ticket office at the Hult Center is open from Tuesday to Saturday, typically from midday until 5pm, with earlier closing on Saturdays.

Eugene’s Markets

The Hult Center is just a couple of blocks away from two of Eugene’s most popular markets: the Eugene Saturday Market and the Lane County Farmers Market. The Saturday Market, as the name implies, is held on Saturdays and features a wide range of locally made crafts, from pottery to tie-dyed fashion. The Lane County Farmers Market is held on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the year; come here to pick up flowers, veggies, and other local delicacies.
