Hotel Negresco
37 Promenade des Anglais, Nice, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, 06000
A historic landmark, Hotel Negresco is a vibrant working hotel and also one of the most visited sites in the city. Travel back to the Belle Époque, as doormen in period-perfect uniforms open the doors to the grand interior, lovingly maintained to its original, flamboyant grandeur. Highlights include the cupola designed by Gustave Eiffel and a gigantic Baccarat crystal chandelier.
The Basics
One need not be a guest to enjoy a drink at the hotel’s Relais Bar, one of the most fashionable cocktail lounges in Nice, or a meal at the brasserie where its over-the-top carousel theme frames spectacular sea views, or a gander at the glam-kitsch artworks like the Niki de Saint Phalle pop-art sculpture of a giant woman with a tiny head that spins and the enormous portrait of Louis XIV.
Travelers have many options to discover Hotel Negresco as part of a half-day, full-day private or group tour that incorporates a sightseeing excursion of Nice’s most popular attractions as well as food and wine tastings. Many modes of travel are possible, including Segways, bicycles, and even a Citroen Meharis or a helicopter. More extensive tours add a trip to Monaco with a ride down the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit, and a trip to the Fragonard perfumery in Eze.
