Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo Garden

2 Chome-10-8 Sekiguchi, Bunkyo, Tokyo, Kanto, 112-0014

The centrally located Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo feels like a step away from the hustle and bustle of city life—primarily because of its traditional Japanese garden. Striking in every season, the garden reveals cherry blossoms in the spring, hydrangeas and fireflies in the summer, migrating birds and colorful foliage in the fall, and camellias in the winter.

The basics

Dotted with seasonal flowers, 500-year-old trees, and a 3-story pagoda that dates back to the 9th century, this magical garden is a treasure trove of natural and man-made beauty. Superstitious travelers can attract good luck by searching for the seven lucky god statues. It’s highly recommended that you check the schedule before a visit to find out when the garden is hosting its mist garden displays, a time when the garden becomes shrouded with a blanket of ocean-like mist.

Things to know before you go

  • The hotel building is barrier-free, but there are some steps in the garden. Staff is available to help wheelchair users by preparing a slope.

  • There are baby strollers available. As these are in limited supply, please inform the hotel in advance if you wish to use them.

  • The hotel staff can speak English.

  • The garden takes roughly 30 minutes to walk around if taking a stroll.

  • There are multiple on-site restaurants, as well as a shop selling seasonal cakes and sweets.
