POINT OF INTEREST

Grand Canal Shoppes

3377 Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV, 89109

A must-see shopping and dining destination in the Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip, the Grand Canal Shoppes evokes Italian piazza vibes with cobblestone walkways and ceilings resembling the sky. Book a gondola ride to travel down the Grand Canal through the restaurants, boutiques, and experiences, like KAMU Ultra Karaoke and Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.

The basics

The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Resort offer a respite from the casinos. Here, you can stroll along the cobblestone walkways, browse shops, and try restaurants, from high-end and celebrity chef restaurants to food court spots. The biggest draw is perhaps its gondola rides down the Grand Canal. In addition to year-round indoor rides, an outdoor one operates on a seasonal, weather-permitting basis.

Things to know before you go

  • You can make a wish at the Wishing Tree, an art installation in the Luxury Wing featuring a canopy of gold leaves and glass birds.

  • Restrooms are located on level two.

  • The Grand Canal Shoppes do not offer wheelchairs or strollers; visitors can rent a wheelchair from the Venetian.

How to get there

Many Las Vegas Strip destinations, including The Venetian and the Grand Canal Shoppes, are accessible on foot, with pedestrian bridges spanning intersections. Rideshare services and taxis are also readily available. The resort offers two on-site parking garages (the Palazzo one offers the most convenient access to the Shoppes); parking is free for guests.

When to get there

Individual store and restaurant hours vary. The best time to visit Las Vegas is in spring (March to May) and fall (September to November), when the weather is most pleasant. You can see the gondoliers as they sing in unison along the indoor canal twice a day in the morning and afternoon.

Where to shop in Las Vegas

Instead of feeding cash into slot machines, head to one of Vegas’ shopping destinations. The Shops at Crystals in the CityCenter complex features luxury brands, such as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Cartier, and a Daniel Libeskind-designed exterior with sharp angles and glass. The Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood offer more affordable options. The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace is a Roman-themed shopping area similar in design to the Grand Canal Shoppes.
