Gondola Rides at the Venetian

3355 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV, 89109

The Venetian® Resort on the Las Vegas Strip recreates the romantic experience of a gondola ride down the Grand Canal of Venice, Italy. Travelers can glide down the replica canals under graceful bridges, passing striking architectural structures as well as the hotel’s Grand Canal Shoppes in the duplicated Venetian streetscape.

The basics

Gondola rides are offered every day, and visitors can choose between a private 2-person gondola and a shared gondola that seats four. The 14-minute ride covers about half a mile of water, with indoor rides weaving beneath the Venetian's sky-painted ceilings and outdoor rides floating by the Strip. Fifteen minutes before the rides begin, singing gondoliers appear in front of the lagoon to transport travelers to Venice.

Things to know before you go

  • In person reservations are required for all gondola rides.

  • Gondola rides are not wheelchair-accessible.

  • Photo packages are available for an additional fee.

  • The last ride leaves the dock 15 minutes before closing time.

  • Purchase Gondola Rides at the Venetian tickets in-person at the Grand Canal Shoppes, Emporio di Gondola Level 2, or the Gondola Ticket Booth at Doge’s Palace.

How to get there

The Venetian is located on Las Vegas Boulevard, near other resorts and hotels such as the Stratosphere, the Bellagio, the Wynn, and Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. It's easy to reach by private vehicle, hop-on hop-off bus, and more.

When to get there

The indoor gondola operates Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 11pm and on Friday and Saturday from 10am to midnight. Outdoor gondola rides run daily from 11am to 10pm, weather permitting, and the gondola box office opens at 9:30am daily.

The Las Vegas Strip

The Venetian is located on the Las Vegas Strip, an eclectic collection of hotels, casinos, luxury shopping malls, restaurants, and more. Stretching over four miles long, visitors can explore the Strip on foot and take in all that it has to offer from street performers to outdoor fountains, and other iconic Las Vegas landmarks.

Ways to explore

Gondola rides at the Venetian are offered every day, and visitors can choose between a private 2-person gondola or a shared gondola that seats four. The 10- to 15-minute ride covers about half a mile (0.8 kilometers) of water, with indoor rides weaving beneath the Venetian’s sky-painted ceilings and outdoor rides floating by the Strip. Each boat is also piloted by a singing gondolier, who transports travelers to Venice—or somewhere like it.

Be sure to arrive a few minutes early for boarding, or leave extra time to shop at the Grand Canal Shoppes afterwards. Choose the outdoor loop if you want to admire iconic views of the Las Vegas Strip, or go for the indoor loop for a calmer, more romantic experience.

Address

The Venetian Resort is located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, around 15 minutes by car from Harry Reed International Airport. Traveling by car, taxi, or rideshare service is common, but some public transit options are also available.

Driving

If you’re driving to the Venetian Resort from nearby casinos or Downtown Las Vegas, take S Las Vegas Boulevard, otherwise known as the Las Vegas Strip. Alternatively, avoid the Strip’s famous traffic by taking I-15. On-site parking is available for US$20 (or US$23 for non-hotel guests, Friday–Sunday).

Public transportation

Two public transportation options serve The Venetian. You can take the Deuce double-decker bus, which stops right outside the resort. The Las Vegas Monorail also stops nearby, at Harrah’s-LINQ, roughly 8 minutes away on foot.

Best times to visit

To avoid the heat of the day when doing the outdoor loop, it’s best to depart around sunset or later into the evening.

Best days to visit

Expect the attraction to be busier during weekends and holidays. Weekdays are likely to be calmer.

Best months to visit

Fall and spring are considered the high season in this hot-weather destination, and when gondola rides are likely to be most in-demand. Note that the outdoor loop is only open seasonally.

Special events

If you can, time your visit for 9:45am or 4:20pm: Twice a day, the resort’s gondoliers sing and march in unison.
