Eleftherias Square often features on walking tours and scavenger hunts. If exploring independently, start at the square's marketplace, where you’ll find a variety of locally-made food and souvenirs, and don't miss the picturesque photo opportunity with Defterdar Mosque as a backdrop. Nearby, take a stroll to the Kos Archaeological Museum, which showcases Hellenistic artifacts. As evening falls, enjoy a meal at one of the many nearby restaurants.

Most travelers venture to Eleftherias Square on foot—it’s only a 3-minute stroll from Kos Old Town and the city is very walkable. If arriving at Kos Port, it’s around an 11-minute walk along Akti Miaouli and Akti Kountouriotou. It takes around 30 minutes in a taxi from Kos Airport.

There are no specific opening hours for Eleftherias Square since it's a public space. However, there are various events and exhibitions that take place in the square throughout the year; at Christmas, it transforms into a charming festive village. For a lively evening, stroll to Bar Street for neon lights or unwind with a drink at the harbor.
