POINT OF INTEREST

Diamante Cabo San Lucas

Diamante Blvd., Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, 23473

If you’re looking for a luxurious golf course and resort on the Cabo San Lucas coast, this top-line beauty is probably it. The resort blends all the amenities with natural beauty: coastal dunes, ocean and beach views, and even an artificial “swimming lagoon” at the center. To golf at any of the high-end courses, you’ll usually need to be a resort guest or member, and to pay caddy and golf fees.

The basics

Diamante draws golfers with two championship-level courses, the Dunes Course and El Cardonal. Dunes has ubiquitous ocean views and a litany of facilities, including a clubhouse, multiple restaurants, and comfort stations every three holes, while the Southern California–inspired Cardonal course was designed by Tiger Woods. Book a stay at the resort to use either golf course, as well as small courses and the Crystal Lagoon, where you can swim, paddleboard, and kayak.

Things to know before you go

  • Book tee times in advance due to the popularity of the courses.

  • The Crystal Lagoon is a family-friendly area, perfect for children and adults alike.

  • Golf carts and resort shuttles provide transportation for guests within the resort.

  • You’ll find lots of amenities at Diamante, including a spa and multiple restaurants and bars.

How to get there

Diamante Cabo San Lucas is about 20-30 minutes from Cabo San Lucas International Airport. The easiest way to go is by car, with rental services available at the airport. Cabs and shuttles are realistic options, and the resort can arrange private transfers. Once you’re there, the on-site transportation services make it easy to navigate the property.

When to get there

The best time to visit Diamante Cabo San Lucas is from October to May, when the weather is warm and dry, ideal for golfing and outdoor activities. The summer months can be hot and humid, with occasional rain showers. Whale-watching season, for those interested, is typically in the winter from December to March.

Public golf courses in Cabo San Lucas

It’s just about impossible to play golf at Diamante unless you’re spending the night at the resort or are a gold club member—but there are also public golf courses in Cabo. Cabo Real in the desert foothills is one such option, as is Palmilla Golf Club near San Jose del Cabo. Keep in mind that public courses still require reservations, which can easily cost hundreds of dollars.
