The Basics

It would be easy to spend a whole day at A’ Famosa Safari Wonderland exploring the different areas and learning about Malaysian and international wildlife. After enjoying the safari experience, you can ride a boat out Monkey Island, check out the orangutan habitat, visit the reptile house, ride a camel, and get up close and personal with the animals at the petting zoo.

Things to Know Before You Go

• Plan to stay at least a few hours to see the sights.

• Online tickets, purchased in advance, are less expensive than the tickets sold at the park.

• The Safari Wonderland is part of a larger resort that includes a hotel and villas, so you can enjoy the park without having to rush back to Melaka.

How to Get There

The park is approximately 50 minutes north of Melaka and 3 miles from the town of Tampin. A free shuttle runs from Tampin bus and train stations to the nearby A’Famosa Resort, but not directly to the Safari Wonderland. The most convenient way to get to the safari from Melaka is in a taxi. If you hire one, and you plan to return the same day, it’s worth negotiating a fare that includes having the driver to wait for you for a few hours, as it can be difficult to find a taxi back into town.

When to Get There

The park is open every day. It’s busiest during the weekends and school holidays, as it’s a popular outing for local Malaysian families. The animals shows occur throughout the day; check the day’s schedule on arrival.

The A’ Famosa resort complex contains a variety of attractions, including a water park with rides for adults and kids of all ages. Highlights include rafts, a wave pool, a sandy beach, and thrilling water slides. Guests who would like to visit both the safari park and the water park can opt to stay at the resort to give themselves plenty of time to explore.
