Towering trees line both sides of the Upper Peninsula Scenic Drive and eventually open up to views of Lake Superior. At some points you’re just steps from the shore. There are several areas to pull over and enjoy the scenery; at Great Sand Bay there’s even a map and sign about the lake. SR 26 is a winding two-lane road; pass only in designated areas.
