La Quinta Inn Tampa South

This hotel is a good choice if all you need is a convenient, clean, and economical place to spend the night. The hotel itself looks as if it has been recently renovated as the shower, fixtures, and flooring all look new, while the furniture appears to be a mix of new and older pieces. Bed was very comfortable. Creaks a bit when you first sit down, but fine after that. Room and common areas were clean. No pool. Free parking. Breakfast was the usual you find in "hot breakfast" hotels...eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, cereal, and some pastries. The reason we picked this particular hotel was because we were traveling with a small, elderly dog and the pet fee was much more reasonable than all the other hotels in the areas we were targeting. The only issue I had was with ripped blackout curtains in the pet-friendly room. Someone obviously had a large dog in there at some point, based on the height of the tears. Those should be replaced, but I would still stay here again, with or without a pet.
