Campground Overview
Welcome to Sweetwater RV Park located in Moneta, VA. We are a family owned and operated campground that offers full hook up RV sites, including water, electric (50/30/20 amps), sewer and cable TV. Our goal is to provide campers a quiet, comfortable, clean, and relaxing family environment. Whether your idea of relaxing is lounging by our pool, boating on Smith Mountain Lake, or visiting our many historical sites, we strive to provide you with a safe family atmosphere. Our park is Big Rig friendly and Pet Friendly. We are a short 3 miles from the beautiful Smith Mountain Lake.
Check In
Check In Time: 1PM | Please stop by the office to check-in before pulling in to your site. If you will be arriving after 7 PM, please contact the campground directly for possible accommodations.

Booker T. Washington National Monument - Located in nearby Hardy, VA, this national monument commemorates the life and achievements of Booker T. Washington, a prominent African American educator and leader.
National D-Day Memorial - Located in nearby Bedford, VA, this memorial honors the sacrifices made by American soldiers during the Normandy invasion on June 6, 1944.
Virginia Museum of Transportation - Located in nearby Roanoke, VA, this museum houses an extensive collection of antique cars, trains, and other forms of transportation.
Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest - Located in nearby Forest, VA, this historic landmark was Thomas Jefferson's personal retreat and features a restored plantation house, gardens, and exhibits.
Rules
Check In/Out Times
Check in time is 1:00PM Check out time is 12:00PM If you are arriving after 7PM, please call ahead and give us your estimated time of arrival. All check In's must arrive prior to 10PM.
Pet Rules
Pets are allowed on campsites ONLY and must remain on a six foot leash. You must clean up after your pet. DO NOT leave pets outside unattended. Any guest with a pet that exhibits aggressive behavior or barks uncontrollably will be asked to leave with NO REFUND. MAXIMUM OF 2 PETS PER SITE.
Park Speed
Guests must obey the park speed limit of 5 mph.
Water Rules
No washing of vehicles, RV’s, or boats as we are on private wells.
Outdoor Mats/Rugs
Rugs are NOT permitted on grass areas. A $50.00 fee will be charged for any site that has to be repaired due to the use of any item that harms grass areas.
Pool Rules
The pool is OPEN from 10 am. to dark. There is NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. Please supervise children and any child under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Swim at your own risk. NO ALCOHOL, GLASS, FOOD, OR PETS allowed in the pool area. All food and drinks must be kept and consumed at the pavilion adjacent to the pool. All guests must be accompanied by the tenant at all times and abide by and are subject to the park rules.
Wildlife
Please take precautions as Sweetwater RV is located in the country; there may be insects and wildlife. Sweetwater RV cannot be responsible for Mother Nature.
Clean Up
The site MUST BE LEFT CLEAN. You MUST REMOVE ALL TRASH AND PLACE IT IN THE DUMPSTER. There will be a $25.00 charge made to your credit card if any trash/damage is found on the site.
Vehicle Rules
Campsite rates are based on a family of four, two vehicles, and one piece of camping equipment. Extra cars are $3.00 per day (maximum of 2 cars). Unchecked cars could be towed.
Visitors
All visitors MUST register in the main office. There will be a $5.00 charge per visitor per day.
Trespassing
Trespassing is prohibited on the adjoining property.
Early Departures
There will be NO REFUNDS for early departures.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are between 10 pm and 7 am. Loud or boisterous behavior is not permitted. Our RV Park is a family friendly establishment and we reserve the right to refuse check-in or to ask anyone to leave with NO REFUND.
Fireworks
NO FIREWORKS or FIREARMS allowed in the park.
Campfires
Campfires are ONLY allowed in fire pits or rings in accordance with county ordinances. All county ordinances should be followed. The Bedford County Burn Ban ordinances can be obtained by calling 1-540-586-7827.
Motorized Vehicles
ATVs, gas powered scooters, and go-carts are NOT permitted to be driven in the park. Golf carts are permitted as long as they do not disrupt other campers/sites. All operators must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
Alcohol
No public display of alcohol or disorderly conduct. No illegal substances or under-aged drinking allowed at any time.
