As you ascend Mt. Fansipan—by mountain train and cable car, or on foot—take in views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range and the terraced fields of Muong Hoa Valley. Near the top, you’ll find temples, shrines, and pagodas, and one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in the country. Purchase tickets for the cable car and mountain trains separately, or opt for a combo pass for extra savings. For a hassle-free experience, choose a tour that includes round-trip transportation from Sapa. Some multi-day guided treks include a ride on the cable car and round-trip transport from Hanoi.

The cable car takes around 20 minutes each way.

To get to Sun World Fansipan Legend, take a bus from Hanoi to Sapa—or an overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai, then a bus or taxi to Sapa. Catch the mountain train to the cable car station at Sun Plaza at the MGallery hotel. Alternatively, take a taxi or walk to the cable car station from town.
Sun World Fansipan Legend is open year-round. The cable car runs from 7:30am to 5:30pm, and is usually busiest first thing in the morning. For the best views, visit on a clear day.
Guinness World Records has recognized Fansipan’s cable car as the world’s longest nonstop 3-line cable car system, at 20,645 feet (6,293 meters) long, as well as the cable car system with the greatest elevation difference, taking riders up 4,626 feet (1,410 meters). Each of the system’s 33 cabins holds up to 35 passengers
