I love this place.! My parents took me here in the 1970s when I was a kid. & I never forgot staying here... There is nothing like it, they do not build them like this anymore! I see the new owner is trying to update the place but wish they would not take A "Diamond in the Rough" like this and turn it in to a Jetsons cartoon look alike! Why remove the old lighting fixtures, paint the nice old school natural wood walls white, swap out the early American furniture for ultra modern chairs and sofas? They are killing the ambiance of this place. Spend the money on new rugs, a new Jacuzzi, Ultra Warm white lighting not ultra white outside wall lighting ... Please, Please, Please... Do not take the Old School, Early American Soul, out of this place...!! There were 2 each big brass chandeliers in the main lobby that are now gone and have been replaced by modern looking light fixtures that look very out of place. People do not go to England to look at new hotels, they go to look at old castles.
