Check in personnel were great as well as staff at the La Boucherie. Where this hotel really lacks customer service is at the Lobby Lounge. The first time we walked up to the bar and ordered drinks the bartender was pleasant and I would say his service was good. We sat at a table but were never approached by any wait staff to see if we would like another drink, and they walked by my wife and I numerous times. We went up to Spire 73 to order another drink and enjoy the view, we sat at a empty table and a waitress came up to us and said that the table was reserved and said we could sit at the bar which there were no available seats, she never asked if we would like a drink. We went back to the Lobby Lounge and sat at a table for about 15 minutes, two waiters walked by numerous times but never asked if we would like to order something. I walked up to the bar and stood behind another customer waiting to order drinks. He waited about 5 minutes and then was given his drinks. I approached the bar it took at least another 5 minutes before the bartender even acknowledged me and asked what I would like. I order a Vodka tonic and a glass of wine, the bartender proceeded to make at least another 6 drinks before he made ours. As I was standing there a female waitress or manager walked up next to me but never asked if I had been helped or just acknowledged me. On the morning of checkout I called twice to get help with our luggage but nobody ever answered. I proceeded to the lobby to check out carrying all our luggage and walked up to the desk. I let the clerk know that I had tried to call for for help and nobody answered. At this point I would have thought he would have apologized and asked if he could get me someone to help but this never happened. Not the greatest service. The hotel is beautiful but for the money spent we didn’t feel at all pampered as guests and probably will not be back. We are used to going to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Monterey etc and getting exceptional service.

This was my third visit in four years. Great location. The property was clean and interesting, however, my stay was frustrating. The elevators are difficult to use and counterintuitive. The touchscreens are finicky. Also, an elevator may arrive, but there is no annunciator letting you know the door has opened and is waiting for you. It takes a while to catch on. Next, parking is more than $50 per night, however, I suspect that may be the going rate in Los Angeles now. I don’t know, but it seems awful high. The most frustrating aspect of my last visit was that the restaurants are on a very limited schedule. The Japanese restaurant is closed, yet there are very few indications of that until you go looking for it. Likewise, it regular dining room restaurant was closed during the evening hours. The only open restaurant was formal and was not well suited for an informal meal. Accordingly, I had to venture out onto the downtown Los Angeles streets to find a nearby restaurant for dinner. Not too convenient for such an upscale hotel. All things considered, I think I’ll still stay elsewhere the next time I visit downtown Los Angeles.
