In the summer of 1859 Chambersburg served as a base of operations for abolitionist John Brown. His headquarters were at a local boarding house. Now known as the John Brown House, the building is at 225 E. King St.; phone (717) 264-1667 for schedule information.
Founding Fathers Park, on the historic site of Chambers Fort, has walkways and benches.
