Budapest is situated on the banks of the Danube. The river splits the city into two halves: Pest, which is completely flat, and Buda, which is hilly. Main sights in Pest: Central Market Hall, National Museum, Great Synagogue, Geological Institute, City Park (Széchenyi Thermal Bath), Heroes' Square, Andrássy Avenue, State Opera House, St. Stephen's Basilica, Parliament Main sights in Buda: Castle District (included former Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Fishermen's Bastion), Gellért Hill (Statue of Freedom), Gellért Thermal Hotel and Spa Between the two sides we have the beautiful and impressive Chain Bridge, Elisabeth Bridge and Liberty Bridge. On a 4 hour tour you can get a general overview about our wonderful capital. A full day tour (7 hours) is more detailed and you'll have longer time to explore all of the sights.
