The positive comment first. The hotel is walking distance to the downtown Anchorage so we walked couple of times to go to dinner or meet the tour companies. That saved us a lot of money for parking. The room is clean, has microwave and coffee pot, no refrigerator, the AC unit doesn’t work but there’s a fan but you probably don’t really need it at this time of the month. They have free breakfast but not everyday depends on staffing. If they are short staff, they close the dining area. 2 days out of the 6 days we were there, no breakfast but they have coffee at least. The front desk staff., some were friendly and some were not so friendly. They need to train the staff what is good customer service. The younger front desk staff barked at us when we walked in the front to check in, saying check in at 3PM. I was almost shocked and in disbelief that a receptionist talked that way. We saw her couple of times so we tried to avoid her. She almost looked like she didn’t want to be there and customers irritated her. Lack of professionalism and they really need to train their staff what is good customer service. Will I use Ramada again? I probably would, but I will make sure I check the rating first.

The accommodations we received were unacceptable. We had to change rooms three times before receiving one that was moderately acceptable. By this point it was after midnight and after being in transit for almost 24hours we were exhausted. (One room on the ground floor actually had a broken window. Another had no working phone or television. The final room had no working television but someone came down and hooked it up. Although friendly, the staff wasn’t knowledgeable and unable to answer the questions I had asked. When I asked to speak to the manager they didn’t even know the manager’s full name. We had to ask the head of housekeeping to get this information . We asked what would be done to compensate us for the unacceptable conditions of the rooms we had been assigned and for the inconvenience. UNFORTUNATELY AFTER 2 WEEKS, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE TO MY INQUIRIES!!!
