Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites

The pictures on the WEBSITE are about 10 years old if you compare the current growth of the trees and the tv type. The rooms are more modern than they are showing online, so I don't know why they don't update the pictures!! If you get a suite on the first floor it does not have a patio or outdoor space like the ones on the 2nd and 3rd floors. I only found that out after I had already moved to the 2nd floor with the help of the very nice front desk person. It was not clear if there is even a balcony at all since the WEBSITE does not mention it but only shows a French door. This is a nice amenity, and they should promote it. The full-size mirror, ottoman, eating table with 2 chairs and ceiling fan were appreciated. The hair drier has a light built in that serves as a night light which was helpful. Around 4 or 5 in the afternoon, I reported 2 lights burned out in a 4-light fixture in the bathroom. I was told maintenance had left for the day - OK...? The next morning, I reported that I had noticed that the smoke detector battery door was open, and no battery was installed. When we returned, the smoke detector was fixed but no lights replaced. Again at 4 p.m. it was too late for the maintenance to be performed and "maybe they were out of those lights". The ones that were working were 2 different types...and you don't keep light bulbs in stock? Although I liked having a balcony, you can see by the pictures that the curtains leading to the outside were taped over a hole and had a lot of mildew and discoloration. Smelled musty as well when the air was on low. The light fixture had bird droppings all over it but there was no nest, so I don't know the last time it had been cleaned. The 2 TVs were appreciated however, the size was very small for the space. I am guessing 27" which may be listed on the website. The couch is right next to the ac vents so you could not sit there very long before you were uncomfortably cold. The Texas shaped pool and star shaped hot tub were unique. The outside again looks a lot better than the WEBSITE shows. The 3 STAR rating is because the staff seemed nice if not efficient at times. The amenities are good. There is so much potential to be better if they would do some updates to the WEBSITE and pay some attention to the rooms and common areas. I hope management reads their reviews and will make some changes.
