Howard Steamboat Museum and Mansion is at 1101 E. Market St. Riverboat history is depicted through craft models and tools used to build boats in the Howard Shipyards (1834-1941) on Ohio River. Housed in 1894 Victorian mansion built for shipyard founder James Howard, the museum also contains original family furnishings. Highlights include paddlewheel from the Delta Queen, a three-story walnut staircase, brass chandeliers and leaded and stained glass windows. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
