Earthworks from this battle are well preserved. A paved road to the crest of Kennesaw Mountain has fine views; around the crest is a trail with maps illustrating the conflict. The visitor center at the foot of the mountain on Old US 41 offers exhibits and a 35-minute film “Kennesaw: One Last Mountain.” Living history demonstrations, educational programs and temporary exhibits also are available.
Picnicking is permitted in designated areas. The mountain road is closed weekends and major holidays; a shuttle bus provides transportation to the mountaintop during these times.
