Stretches of SR 92 offer good views of the site, which is especially scenic at night—when the rock is illuminated from dusk to about 10:30 p.m. A visitor center at the park, 1 mile south off SR 92, has interpretive exhibits about the Oregon Trail and western migration, including a chance to "pack your wagon" for the journey.
The historic site visitor center is open daily 9-5; closed most winter holidays. Admission is $3; free (ages 0-17 when accompanied by an adult). For further information, phone (308) 586-2581.
